Our Nation's Pride - Journey of a Visually Impaired Young Entrepreneur

Hello Readers… Hope you are all doing well. Today we are going to know about a young entrepreneur who is visually impaired since birth. let's know his inspirational story.

He’s none other than MR. SRIKANTH BOLLA, who built 20 crores worth of business known as “Bollant Industries”. (Hyderabad)



He was born in Machilipatnam a city in Andhra Pradesh in 1992. When he was born his parents were suggested by villagers to kill new born as claiming he’s useless. But his parents raised him with more concern and love. They are from a farming background. His father took his school admission in blind students school in Hyderabad. He worked hard and scored 90% in SSC. 

Later he wanted to take science in 11th but colleges denied to give admission in that stream he fought through court and won the case. He got admission in the science stream and also scored more than 90% again in 12th. Later he wished to pursue engineering in one of the elite universities in India but again he faced disappointment. But he didn't give up he applied to MIT University, the USA's topmost University. He attended MIT, where he was the first international blind student. After that, he worked in a company and returned back to India. With the help of few more people  he co-founded "Samanvai Center for youngsters with Multiple Disabilities" in 2011 during which he started a Braille press, providing educational, vocational, financial, rehabilitation services to students with multiple disabilities for an economically independent life.

Later in 2012, he started Bollant Industries, which manufactures Areca-based products like eco-friendly plates, dinnerware sets, etc, and also provides employment to people with disabilities, with funding from Ratan Tata. Also produces eco-friendly recycled kraft from municipal waste or soiled paper, packaging products from recycled paper, disposable products from natural leaf, and recycled paper and recycles waste plastic into usable products.

Srikanth established Surge Impact Foundation, The organization aims to enable individuals & institutions in India to achieve Sustainable Development Goals by 2030.

In April 2017, He was named by Forbes magazine in its list of 30 under 30 across all of Asia, one among only three Indians therein list.



He has also achieved many awards like Youth Excellence Award by the Telugu Fine Arts Society of latest Jersey. Entrepreneur of the year at NDTV Indian in the year 2015. Entrepreneur of the year by one young world in 2019 and a few more.

             Anitha and Anand had been married for 2 years. They are very affectionate towards each other and very passionate about their careers.
