Interesting Facts About Ancient India

     We all know that India may be a "subcontinent", but it wasn’t a “subcontinent" like the present as a part of Asia. Over 100 million years ago, it had been actually an island! It had broken far away from a supercontinent and slowly traveled north, arriving at its present-day location in about 50 million years. Some theories state's that due to India's collision with the Asian continent Himalayas were formed.
                          


      Chess is one of the oldest games invented in India. The ancient game was called “chaturanga”, and it appeared around the 6th century C.E. Snakes and the ladder was also born in Ancient India known as “Moksha Patamu”.

                                                                    
              
        The foremost astonishing fact is we all think that cosmetic surgery may be a modern convenience, you’re up for an enormous surprise. India had it covered quite 2,500 years ago, way back within the 6th century B.C.E. Ancient doctors did many surgeries. Sushruta, a physician of ancient India, did many surgeries like kidney stone removal, and even brain operation too!

                                   


 

        We all use Shampoo. “Shampoo” springs from the Hindi word “champo,” which suggests “to massage” or “knead”, cleansing dirt.

       Diamonds are the foremost precious gems and Up until the first 18th century, India was the sole source of diamonds within the world, these precious stones were first discovered and traded within the 4th-century B.C.E. 


        Vittala Temple -The temple was inbuilt in the 15th century during the rule of the king Devaraya II. the massive Ranga Mantapa is well-known for its 56 musical pillars, also referred to as SaReGaMa pillars. We can actually hear the musical notes if we tap the pillars gently. 

                            



         We all know that Aristotle discovered that Earth is round but before him a few centuries ago. Planetary motions were discovered in ancient science, there are sketches which show, which probably between three to four thousand years ago were made, where it clearly shows a turtle and a Round planet sitting there on and going around. So a round planet on a turtle is described as how a planet moves around Sun. and therefore the word for geography during ancient times is bhoogol, which means it’s a round planet.  So our ancestors knew that Earth is Round long ago.

         The Surya Siddhanta was a  Sanskrit work in Indian astronomy. The Surya Siddhanta describes rules to calculate the motions of varied planets and calculates the orbits of varied astronomical bodies. The text is understood from a 15th-century CE palm-leaf manuscript, and several other newer manuscripts. it had been composed or revised c. 800 CE from an earlier text also called the Surya Siddhanta.

                                     




Ancient Indians used very advanced toilet systems in the Indus valley civilization era, Each house in Harappa had a personal toilet with a link to the covered drains outside. Most advanced toilet system, at that point itself. Afterward, those practices were gone and open defecation was seen in rural India. Not only that, men and women were treated equally in all aspects.

  Hello Readers ... Hope you all are doing well. I just want to share a pleasant experience that happened at my place in the city, like a story.
