A Rainy Day - Perception of Life

It is a rainy day, in a city and there's a huge traffic jam. There are people of different economical classes.




Now let us peep into the minds of few people.

A teenage guy on the bi-cycle  thoughts are going like this,

" Oh God it's raining heavily, I am getting drenched by the rain”. Just then he happened to see his dream bike beside him " I have been dreaming of that bike for a very long time, if I had that now I could reach home fast. I wish my dad could also give me it".

The person on the bike thinking, " this rain.. and my useless bike,  just using all petrol and wouldn't work properly.. I should have taken an auto for today so that  I wouldn't get soaked in the rain now".  

Beside him, there's an Auto hired by a family,  wife telling to her husband " Oh dear!  look at the rain and traffic we are stuck in, we couldn't reach the wedding on time. Look at that car. I wish we could afford a car so that we could have a peaceful journey with our family." 

Meanwhile, the person in the car thinking that " Oh my God, I should have postponed my journey today, Now I am stuck in this traffic, could not able to move forward,  how do I reach home now. I wish I have a bicycle or a bike now .so that I could probably reach home earlier without any Hussle". 

Now, all these people in the traffic seen a heart-touching scene. An old man with his wife selling toys in the rain, covering themselves with a plastic sheet over them.  They got wet mostly. It seems like they are struggling to reach their daily needs.

After a while they came near the car to sell, the person in the car gave them food and an umbrella. He talked to the old man " Hello uncle you both are looking so poor and seems like you are struggling to meet your daily needs. yet you are looking very happy may I know the reason behind it". 

The old man smiled and replied, "Yes it is true, it's because, after  many days we are having  food to our fullest ." 

Later they came near the auto, the woman in the auto offered a shawl and asked them " Uncle why you are begging in the rain,  why don't you take shelter for a while until the rain stops." 

"No beti, if the rain stops all the traffic will get cleared and we will not be able to get enough money. Yes, we are indeed struggling a lot to fill our tummies. We usually don't have enough food. But today, due to traffic we could able to sell more toys and we can receive enough money", and moved further cheerfully.



Hearing this conversation between them. All the people who were complaining about the situations of their lives started to feel grateful for the life they are being blessed with. The old couple has shown a better perception of life.  Now they neither have complaints nor sorrow.

All  Realized, instead of complaining they could see life in a better way.
